Heart Dissection

1. The atria is much smaller and more flappy than the ventricle. The ventricles are more muscular than the atria because the ventricles are required to pump out blood whereas the atrias are only responsible for collecting blood.
2. I noticed the differences between the veins and arteries that were entering and leaving the heart but putting my finger through them and seeing where they were going and where they came from. The arteries were also thicker than the veins.
3. I found the semi lunar valves and the AV valves. Both kind of valves are very strong. The semi lunar valves are more like pockets and the AV valves are connected to the chordae tendinae. Their purpose is to stop blood flow to go backwards.
4. The texture of the heart surprised me because I expected it to be most smooth.

How do you get parasites in your heart?

A lot of parasite infections concerning the heart are diagnosed in developed countries because of worldwide travel, HIV/AIDs and organ transplants. Certain parasites lay eggs which makes it worse. Heart failure can occur when dealing with parasite infections, the heart will pump blood inadequately, causing reduced blood flow, congestion of blood in the veins and lungs.
